Green Line

I took the bus and metro combo today to get to work. The bus was quick, convenient and pleasant. I got onto the Shaw metro around 8am, which is generally considered rush hour. It was kind of surprising that the green line train didnt arrive for 7 minutes. In the grand scheme of things, seven minutes isnt a big deal. But wouldnt one think that during rush hour on a Monday morning that there would be more frequent trains?

  1. I think that it is unfair to the residents that we have to wait much longer than our friends who live near other lines. I complian everyday to friends about the slow nature of the green line. Call it a conspiricy theory if you like but the very slow green line runs through all of the black/brown communities in DC. I don't think it is a coincidence.

  2. The Green Line is extremely slow. Man, the Blue Line on a Sunday late at night runs faster than the Green Line during weekday rush hour. Instead of taking the Green Line and connecting to a bus like I normally do, I did a bus-to-bus transfer and got to work earlier than I did. Huh.

I agree with black sage. If the Green Line ran through White neighborhoods, this wouldn't even be a problem.
